Port City Community Church

Samaritan’s Purse has arrived and they are ready to mobilize volunteers to help with disaster relief and clean-up. Lots of volunteers needed! If you are in need of NON-EMERGENCY services such as home related issues like mud-outs, roof-tarping, debris or tree removal, please contact Samaritan’s Purse.  just come to the Port City Church Wilmington Campus Monday-Saturday at 7:15 am or 12:15 pm. https://www.samaritanspurse.org

From the Pender County Government- Those who already receive benefits will have their benefits loaded to their EBT card on Wednesday.
Food Stamp applications will be accepted beginning on Friday. You will have to apply in person at DSS in Burgaw. This will run:
Friday – September 28 from 8-5
Saturday – September 29 from 9-6
Monday – October 1 through Friday – October 5 from 8-5
Saturday – October 6 from 9-6.

SEVERAL ORGANIZATIONS TEAMING TOGETHER GIVING OUT FOOD/SUPPLIES 7am – 7pm to the 3 locations below.  

North POD: College Park Elementary School – 5301 Sidbury Road, Castle Hayne NC 28429

Central POD: CFCC’s downtown campus – 700 N. Front Street, Wilmington, NC 28401

South POD: Veteran’s Park – 840 Halyburton Memorial Parkway, Wilmington, NC 28412

Southside Baptist Church – 910-799-4751, Southside will be the hub for supplies donated to the disaster relief efforts. They are accepting any and all donations EXCEPT clothing items. They need volunteers to help receive, sort, and deliver supplies for those in need! They need as many volunteers as they can get to help our community and be a light into this dark situation! The Point @ Southport – 910-520-2420 They are distributing food and clean up supplies out of the Southport city gym  with support from Convoy of Hope and God’s Pit Crew.

Somebody Cares – Somebody Cares is busy mobilizing support to send Crisis Response International (CRI), Christ in Action, Night Runners, Somebody Cares Holy Smoke Grill Team into staging areas.  The need right now are bulk quantities of: cleaning supplies, non-perishable goods, baby supplies (diapers, baby wipes, powder, diaper rash cream), various types of mosquito repellent, food service items (clam shells, paper plates and bowls, napkins, plastic utensils), work tools, chainsaws, and generators.  This list will be updated as more needs are identified. https://somebodycares.org/florence-relief-begins-serving-hot-meals-sending-supplies/

Cape Fear Volunteer Center 910-392-8180 Mobilize volunteers to help victims of Hurricane Florence. Assist non-profit organizations by providing volunteers to support their operations. Direct donations of goods to victims for free distribution. Lifepoint Church – Hurricane Help Line – 910-660-1320, 3534 S College Rd, Ste A Wilmington, North Carolina.  HURRICANE RELIEF UPDATE: Beginning Sunday, September 23 – our serve teams will shift focus from distribution of aid to helping in our neighborhoods. We will no longer have drive thru meals on site. All dry goods have now been allocated to resource centers around town. If you or someone you know needs a hot meal, please visit First Baptist Activity Center or Operation Barbecue Rescue in the K-Mart parking lot. Our staff/volunteers will be off on Monday and will ramp up recovery efforts again beginning Tuesday, September 25. You are not alone in putting things back together and we are determined to walk alongside you.http://lifepointnow.com/blog/hurricane-florence-updates

Billy Graham Rapid Response Team – 38 chaplains are now ministering in Wilmington, New Bern and Jacksonville, North Carolina.
